March 9th will be 14 years since the death of Christopher Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G. and it is yet to be solved. However, new evidence that has been brought to light may show what many have thought all along… that the LAPD was involved.
A wrongful death suit was filed against the city of Los Angeles in 2005 by Voletta Wallace accusing the LAPD of hiding evidence that 2 of their officers were involved in the fatal shooting. Now new evidence may be outing former LAPD officers David Mack and Rafael Perez along with Suge Knight!
According to the evidence, an unnamed inmate, who later shared a cell with Rafael Perez, claims Perez told him that he was working security at the Peterson Museum on the night Biggie was shot, and that he made a phonecall when Biggie left the party, to inform Mack that the Bad Boy rapper was sitting inside a vehicle outside the museum.”The federal judge in the case writes that the inmate reported that Perez had told him about his and [Officer David] Mack’s involvement with Death Row Records and their activities at the Petersen Automotive Museum the night of Biggie Smalls’ murder,”California news station KCAL9 reports, calling the new info “potentially explosive evidence.” (Boombox.com)
This evidence was never presented by the lead investigator and as for those two officers… well, Perez and Mack just happened to be on Death Row’s payroll as well as had involvement in an $800,000 cocaine heist. Both of those findings ended their careers.
Let’s hope something actually comes of this new evidence and we can finally get some closure to this case!
