Actress Dame Elizabeth Rosewood Taylor also known as Liz Taylor born February 27th, 1932, passed away today March 23rd, 2011. She leaves behind her memories in the films she appeared in. Liz Taylor featured in her first film at the young age of nine titled THERE'S ONE BORN EVERY MINUTE back in 1942. As her career took off, Liz appeared in numerous films.
As an teen Liz featured in her first staring role in the movie NATIONAL VELVET in 1944. In 1947's film CYNTHIA is where she received her first screen kiss. Liz also appeared in Broadway's longest-running non-musical play LIFE WITH FATHER in 1947, a total of 9 films in her teenage year.
In 1949 Liz Taylor started in her first grown up role in the movie CONSPIRATOR. She continue her new path to more grown up roles that was featured in 70 films . Winning OSCARS for both 1967's WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF & 1991's BUTTERFIELD 8. As well as being nominated for 16 other awards and winning 37. Aside from films she also featured in 3 episodes of the soap opera GENERAL HOSPITAL as Helen Cassadine in 1981.
Elizabeth Taylor was also know for her numerous marriages, which was eight in total. Seven ending in divorce and one where she became widowed. She also has four children, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She also has an AIDS organization AMFAR raised $83 million in the twelve years from when it first was created. In 2006 Liz introduced her new line of precious stones & diamonds which she named HOUSE OF TAYLOR. She has also a line of perfumes and cologne (eleven in all).
Liz dealt with various health issues, congestive heart failure being one of them back in 2004. Elizabeth Taylor Passed away in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California surrounded by her four children.
